Nurse Maud found God after a traumatic experience. Her piousness soon clashes with the hedonistic exercises of modern dance legend Amanda, who has terminal cancer and whom Maud cares for in a home on the English coast. Her religious visions (or delusions) intensify, and she slowly loses her footing in reality: Obsessed with saving Amanda’s soul, she goes to new extremes. Rose Glass’s feature debut is an impressive piece of psycho-horror filmmaking with extraordinary, enigmatic performances.
