Orphaned sisters Ami and Yoshie are scraping by with appearances in variety shows when one of them is kidnapped by the criminal Dharma family and the other one loses an arm in an attempt to help her sister. As she regains consciousness, she attaches a machine gun to the bloody stump, and the revenge rampage begins. This reboot of Noboru Iguchi’s J-gore masterpiece Machine Girls goes to battle with the same arsenal as the original: Rat-tat-tatting giant tits, cyborgs, blood by the bucket, and a relentless staccato of demented ideas and exorbitant effects make this WTF thing one of the festival’s essential jaw droppers.

Yûki Kobayashi
(* 1990 in Fujinomiya, Japan) completed his short film Super Tandem in 2014. It was based on a true-life incident in which his friends were abducted and beaten up by delinquents. His short film Night Safari (2014) was selected in the Tama New Wave competition for promising new filmmakers in the Japanese film industry and later that year won the Grand Prize at the Kanazawa Film Fest. In 2015, forty-six members of the cast, among which twenty had arrest records, attended the screening of Kobayashi’s Kamikaze Cowboy at the Yubari International Fantastic Film Festival 2016. The film took the Grand Prize in the Off-Theater competition. Kobayashi made his debut in commercial films with Death Row Family and Hedoroba in 2017 and released the Japanese TV mini-series Giver: Revenge’s Giver in 2018.
